Congregational Singing

I love to teach people how singing together can bring us closer together. I have led workshops on congregational song with large and small groups in places from England to Quebec to Vancouver. My style is based mostly on the paperless music approach developed at the Iona Community in Scotland and St Gregory of Nyssa Episcopal Church in San Francisco. It was this approach that was used for much of our music in Marquand Chapel at Yale Divinity School when I was a student there.

I would love to do a single workshop or a series of sessions for a season with your congregation. I also have lots of experience teaching music to children, youth and intergenerational groups. My schedule is very flexible as to when I could do these workshops, but I do have a limit of only being away from my home parish of St Augustine's, Marpole for no more than two Sundays a month.

"Caitlin Reilley Beck was the presenter and she immediately set the example and tone by singing a capella. In an encouraging and enthusiastic way she invited and received the active participation of all concerned, even those who claimed to be unable to sing."

Godly Play Enrichment

Godly Play is a Montessori style approach to spiritual formation for children. Godly Play Enrichment is an ongoing monthly workshop designed to support congregations who are using Godly Play. It is meant to supplement the official Godly Play training provided by Godly Play Canada by providing leaders with a place to learn from each others' experiences, pause for prayer and theological reflection and practice their skills together.

This workshop is currently on hiatus while I find a location to host the group. If you or your congregation would like to be involved please don't hesitate to reach out to me and join my email list for updates on the next time this group will gather.

Congregational AND ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT

I am a graduate and trainer at the Diocesan School for Parish Development in the Diocese of New Westminster. This program, developed by Bishop Melissa Skelton, teaches organization and congregational development to parish leaders. Integrating personal faith and Anglican theological understanding, the School focuses on how individuals, groups, and whole organizations function.

I have applied the principles of parish development in my work with parishes while employed by the Diocese of New Westminster as well as in my independent consulting work. I have worked with several parishes going through an interim ministry as well as parishes interested in renewing their ministry with children, youth and families.

If you are looking for support as a Church or small non-profit organization, I would love to chat with you about how I might be able to contribute to your work.
